ACCESS PRESS - FUNDING APPLICATION
(1) In the interests of maintaining a vibrant and competitive local press, and given that government assistance was recently rendered to Fremantle Press, will the minister explain why a recent funding application by Access Press for the purpose of promotion was rejected? (2) Were the same criteria applied to both applications? Hon ADELE FARINA

The Minister for Culture and the Arts has provided the following answer - (1) Funding for individual artists and project groups is distributed through a competitive process by the Department of Culture and the Arts, with arts industry peers assessing applications and recommending funding support. Applicants to the most recent funding round have yet to be advised of the outcome of the peer review process. (2) Yes.
