Department of State Development advises:
(a) The State Government's financial commitment for the common-user port infrastructure as at 8 March 2010 is $339 million.
(b) Arrangements for dealing with any cost increases to the State and Commonwealth funded common-user port infrastructure component will be addressed in the project agreements to be negotiated with Oakajee Port and Rail Pty Ltd (OPR). OPR will be responsible for meeting any cost increases in the private user port infrastructure and rail infrastructure servicing the northern mines.
(c) The total cost of the project (including both the common and private user port infrastructure and northern rail infrastructure) as at 1 April 2010 is estimated by OPR to be $4.37 billion, including a contingency of $403 million, with an accuracy range of +/- 15%.
