I refer to the Report and Recommendations of the Environmental Protection Authority published on 25 September 2019 regarding Ministerial Statement 800 for the Gorgon Gas Development, and I ask: (a) to date, what is the total tonnes of greenhouse gas pollution that the Gorgon Gas Development emitted into the atmosphere, since the Commencement of Gas Processing Operations, as defined in the EPA’s Report and Recommendations; and (b) what is the projected total of greenhouse gas emissions that the Gorgon Gas Development will emit over the lifespan of the project?

(a) – (b) Further to my answer to the Questions on Notice 2543 and 2544, the compliance starting point for Commencement of Gas Processing Operations is still in the process of being finalised. However, the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation advises that Chevron Australia is not required by Ministerial Statement 800 to report total greenhouse gas emissions from the Gorgon Gas Development in its annual Environmental Performance Report, but this type of information is publically available from the Commonwealth Government Clean Energy Regulator.
