BARBAGALLO RACEWAY — RISK LEVELS
905. Mr P.B. WATSON to the
Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I have a supplementary question. When was the minister, or
any officer in her ministerial office, made aware of the draft report advising
that the raceway should be closed down? She would have got the draft report
before the final report. When was she made aware of it?

AnswerView source ↗

There was no draft report. I was not aware of the final
report —
Mr P.B. Watson :
You said ''draft report'' before.
The SPEAKER : That
is enough.
Ms M.J. DAVIES : I
was not aware that there was a draft report until such time as the media had
been made aware of it. There were enough concerns from my perspective about the
communication of that report that I referred the entire matter to the Public
Sector Commissioner. I was not aware that the department had a draft report. It
had not been communicated to my office. The member is welcome to FOI my office
if he does not believe what I am saying on the floor of Parliament. I was not
aware that drafts were moving between the department and the safety auditor, me
or my office.
