(1) Why has the role of the board of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts been rendered ineffective and why does it now operate as an advisory committee rather than in a management role? This question, along with other questions the member has asked, are rather gratuitous, are offensive to both the board and Edith Cowan University and do not deserve serious contemplation. Nevertheless, the minister has provided the following answer - (1)-(2) The role of the board of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts changed as a result of the Nairn review. The independent Nairn review recommended terms of reference, which have been adopted. The board retains responsibility and accountability for strategic direction.
