On 2 April the Minister for Education was quoted in The West Australian as saying that he would provide a more relevant curriculum and more support for Aboriginal students. (1) What strategies have been developed and implemented to provide a more relevant curriculum and more support to Aboriginal students? (2) What plans are there to ensure that teachers have the appropriate qualifications and training to provide the necessary support for Aboriginal students? Hon G.T. GIFFARD

(1)-(2) The Getting it Right literacy and numeracy strategy will provide a more relevant curriculum and support for Aboriginal students as this strategy targets schools where the greatest literacy and numeracy needs have been identified.
