440. Mr McGOWAN to the Minister for Health:
I refer to Government offices, instrumentalities and agencies under the control of the Minister and ask -
(a) which Government offices in Perth are planned for re-location;
(b) when do the relevant leases expire in relation to these offices;
(c) has the Government considered re-locating any of these offices into the Rockingham City centre precinct;
(d) if not, why not;
(e) will the Government discuss this matter with the Rockingham City Council; and
(f) if not, why not?
The Minister Replied:
Office of Health Review :
(a) The Office of Health Review is intending to relocate in the CBC this financial year.
(b) The Office of Health Review does not have a lease contract for the existing office.
(c) No.
(d) Rockingham would not be a central location for all members of the metropolitan and country community to access.
(e) Not applicable.
(f) Not applicable.
Healthway :
(a)-(f) Not applicable.
Health Department of Western Australia :
(a) No Health Department offices in Perth are planned for relocation at this time.
(b) Not applicable.
(c) The Peel and Rockingham/Kwinana Health Services already have a major district hospital and associated offices in the Rockingham region. The Health Service also provides community mental health services through leased premises in the Rockingham City centre precinct. The Metropolitan Health Service Board is not considering re-locating any Perth based offices to Rockingham.
(d) Not applicable.
(e) No.
(f) The Health Department has a long-standing commitment to providing services and related infrastructure for communities in this region.
