590. Hon LYNN
MacLAREN to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for State
Development:
I refer to Planning and Development
Legislation Amendment (Western Trade Coast Protection Area) Bill 2015—draft
bill for public consultation.
(1) Will the
minister please table any reports which show that air quality in the Mandogalup
area poses a risk to health?
(2) Has a report
been prepared to determine whether land inside the proposed western trade coast
protection area is necessary for industrial use?
(a) If yes to (1), please table the
report.
(b) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Given that
residents affected by Hope Valley–Wattleup Redevelopment Act 2000 were
compensated, will the 112 Mandogalup residents affected by proposed legislation
be similarly compensated?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) No.
(2) No.
(a) Not applicable.
(b) The purpose
of the western trade coast protection area is to ensure that new residential
populations surrounding the western trade coast protection area are adequately
separated from industrial activities, both now and in decades to come.
(3) The proposed
legislation will not injuriously affect land and therefore will not trigger
compensation under the Planning and Development Act 2005.
