NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME —
AGREEMENT SIGNING
1264. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the Minister for Disability Services:
I refer to the delay in signing an
agreement with the commonwealth government on the National Disability Insurance
Scheme.
(1) Will this
delay affect current access to support for people with disability who are
outside the NDIS or My Way trial in any way?
(2) After the
current round of combined application process funding, when will people outside
the trial next be able to apply for funding?
(3) Will people
who are unsuccessful in this round of combined application funding be
prioritised for assistance when the NDIS is rolled out?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1) No. The
government remains committed to supporting all Western Australians with
disability irrespective of where they live in Western Australia.
(2) The combined
application process round that closes on 14 November 2016 will utilise all
allocated funding outside the NDIS trial sites for the 2016–17
financial year and will be the final time CAP is run. From 1 July 2017, CAP
will be replaced by a new localised funding system. Under this system, there
will be no set time frames for when funding can be applied for. Funding will be
prioritised and allocated on the basis of individual plans developed with local
coordinators.
(3) People
seeking funded support who are unsuccessful in the final CAP round should
undertake an individualised planning process with their local coordinator.
