The Department of the Premier and Cabinet advises the following; (1-6) Accessing the details of all contracts and costs of media monitoring would involve a commitment of considerable staff and resources, which I am not prepared to authorise, given that there have been two across-Government investigations (in 1989 and 2002) to assess monitoring needs and they recommended against change.
