I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes, the minister has given notice on a number of occasions that the head lease between the Western Australian Planning Commission and the City of Fremantle will expire on 30 November 2002, and this lease is not proposed to be extended beyond that date. Apace Aid Ltd holds a sublease with the City of Fremantle that will expire on the same date. (2) The minister is well aware of the high regard in which the community holds the services of Apace Aid Ltd. The minister is also aware of the temporary nature under which the original sublease was approved. (3) The Ministry for Planning and the City of Fremantle are exploring options to relocate Apace Western Australia, which will provide it with a more secure tenure and be located in an area that is appropriately zoned. The lease of the site to the City of Fremantle was never intended to be a permanent arrangement. (4) The lands were originally purchased as a public purpose, special use reservation to extend the inner harbour uses that occurred in the case of the subject land. Only part of the subject land has since been reserved for parks and recreation to extend the Swan River foreshore as a result of the Vlamingh Park Lands Study. The City of Fremantle currently has plans for a major rehabilitation program for the wetland on this part of the foreshore.
