ECOLOGICAL THINNING
1355. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the Minister for Forestry:
I refer to my question without
notice 1155 of 19 September 2024 on ecological thinning, noting the additional
and specific funding provided by government
to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to employ additional staff resources to implement
ecological thinning operations. As at 5 November 2024, I ask the following.
(1) How many additional positions have been advertised
and how many of these positions have been appointed?
(2) How many additional FTE have been employed? For each FTE —
(a) how many of these are
full-time positions;
(b) how many are fixed term
positions and please specify the term of appointment; and
(c) how many
of the newly created positions are tasked with planning and preparation of
ecological thinning or forest enhancement areas?
