(1) In 2006-2007, the Western Australian Department of Health provided funding of $35,394,638 to non-government organisations (NGOs) for mental health programs, services and facilities. For 2007-2008, this amount has increased to $41,078,875.

Note: NGOs include not-for-profit and private organisations.
(2) There were no non-government organisations that applied for mental health funding in the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 budgets that were unsuccessful.
Throughout the year, the Department of Health receives a number of requests for non-recurrent grants for special projects. Not all of these requests can be funded.
