Plans for the review and consultation have been developed.

A process for consultation with rural stakeholders is incorporated into the review, which will commence in the near future.

Action relating to this recommendation has not been finalised.

None of the five former South West Health Service Boards was sacked. The five South West Health Service Boards were amalgamated into one legal entity known as the South West Health Board. This Board came into operation on 1 January 2002. Further consultation with South West communities will take place as part of the overall review of country health services.
