PAYROLL TAX —
RETIREMENT VILLAGES
1194. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the Minister
for Finance:
(1) How many retirement villages pay
payroll tax under the grouping provisions?
(2) Of those
paying payroll tax under the grouping provisions, how much tax has been paid
for the financial years 2017–18, 2018–19 and 2019–20?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The Department of Finance advises the following.
(1)–(2) RevenueWA does not have data classified in a manner
that allows the payroll tax payable under the grouping provisions for retirement
villages to be identified due to the lack of an appropriately specific industry
classification code.
