COMMISSIONER OF POLICE — GREG ITALIANO
390. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Premier:
I have a
supplementary question. In light of the Corruption and Crime Commission Act and
the PremierXXX ###XXXs assurance will Mr Italiano keep a position in the police force or a similar
level position in the public service?

AnswerView source ↗

Again, the
Leader of the Opposition does not seem to grasp it. I am not a CEO, nor is the
police minister. Mr Italiano will be dealt with
absolutely fairly and properly. I do not know what his intentions or
aspirations would be, but he will be treated absolutely fairly. There will be
no victimisation and if he wishes, for example, to transfer to another agency,
it would be something that would be handled through the Public Sector
Commissioner.
