SCHOOL VIOLENCE
1467. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to the minister's
policy of suspending students to prevent violence in schools, and the review of
the Thoughtful Schools project, which conflicts with that policy.
(1) How many maximum suspensions
may be issued to a child within any school year?
(2) What is the
total number of students who have been suspended or excluded for physical
aggression from schools in 2019 to date?
(3) For the 2019 school year to
date, will the minister please list —
(a) the schools that have expelled at
least three students; and
(b) the schools that suspended at
least three students?
(4) Will the
minister provide a breakdown of the $3.3 million expenditure that was budgeted
for in the violence in schools strategy?
