(a) There has not been any specific programs carried out on graffiti in Serpentine-Jarrahdale by the State Government however the Government has recently launched the Graffiti Vandalism Reduction Strategy which is a state-wide program on reducing graffiti. Work on a range of initiatives is in progress.
(b) The repair to property through graffiti vandalism is the responsibility of the property or asset owner. Since 2004, the Government has provided community grants totalling $1.5 million to tackle graffiti vandalism and designing out crime issues.
(c) The Government is working closely with many local and state government stakeholders in a collaborative approach to prevent and reduce the amount of graffiti right across Western Australia. Programs that will be specifically available at a local level over the next 12 months include:
Service Level Agreements between state agencies and local government for rapid removal of graffiti on state owned assets;
Industry training for professional and volunteer graffiti removalists;
Mobile Wireless CCTV Units being made available to local government for loan for hot spots;
Targeted Policing activites.
