Family and domestic violence—Chloe Wright
151. Hon Michelle Boylan to the minister representing
the Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence:
I refer to recent
media coverage of Ms Chloe Wright, a victim of family and domestic violence who
has reportedly fled the country because of the offender being released on bail.
Can the minister advise:
(1) whether she has seen the footage of
the assault on Ms Wright;
(2) what action was taken by the Department
of Communities' child protection unit to support Ms Wright;
(3) what is the family violence program
that was used as a justification for Ms Wright's alleged attacker to be on bail
in the community rather than incarcerated; and
(4) why is the program or similar not
available to offenders who are incarcerated?
