Something keeps attracting the member's mind to this subject. Hon Peter Foss: Sex. Hon N.F. MOORE: I would not have put it quite like that. I can only measure people by the standards they set, and that is why I keep asking the member why he keeps asking questions on the same subject. I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) A sum of $540 000 was spent on the contract for the first series of nine commercials shot in early 1997. A sum of $US100 000 was spent on the contract for the appearance of Ms Macpherson. A sum of $US450 000 was spent on the contract for the second series of four commercials shot in 1998. A contract has been negotiated to extend the period of use for the audio and visual content of the earlier commercials but, as of today, no funds have been expended. (2) The Western Australian Tourism Commission is developing its new advertising strategy in accordance with Partnership 21. Its advertising agency has been briefed. The strategic and creative direction has not been finalised as yet, although we expect to continue the use of Elle Macpherson given the incredible success we have had with previous campaigns. (3) As yet this cannot be determined as the creative direction is not finalised. (4) The forward estimates, over the next four years, have funds allocated for advertising and any costs associated with Elle Macpherson will be within those budgeted amounts.
