(1) Will the
McGowan government repeal the provisions governing confinement in the Young
Offenders Act 1994 and the Young Offenders Regulations 1995?
(2) If yes to (1), when?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) The
government intends to undertake a comprehensive review of the Young Offenders
Act 1994. Confinement provisions under both the act and the associated Young
Offenders Regulations 1995 will be considered as part of that review.
