ROE
HIGHWAY STAGE 8 EXTENSION — METROPOLITAN REGION SCHEME AMENDMENT
912. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the
Minister for Planning:
I refer to the fact that part of the building envelope for
Roe 8 is outside the metropolitan region scheme reservation for the project.
(1) Has the
minister initiated an MRS amendment for this project as was recommended by the
Environmental Protection Authority in 2013?
(2) If yes to (1), when will that MRS process be finalised?
(3) How many
landowners outside the existing MRS reservation have been issued with notices
of intent to take land?

(1)–(3)
It is the role of the Western Australian Planning Commission to initiate an
amendment to the metropolitan region scheme. I understand that that matter is
in hand; it is being considered at the moment and liaison is occurring between
the Department of Planning and the Department of Transport and Main Roads in
relation to the necessary MRS amendment.
