(a) The establishment of the East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) will not affect mental health services provided to patients in the revised South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) region.
(b) Yes, it is estimated that 498.60 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) will be transitioning from SMHS to EMHS. Mental health services are still being finalised and the final FTE may vary slightly.
(c) 1061.04 FTE.
(d) 117.82 FTE.
(e) Mental Health funding received by SMHS in 2015/16 totalled $211 million. Of this funding, 5.6% ($11.8 million) was allocated for direct costs associated with administration salaries and wages. A total of $43 million was allocated for mental health indirect costs of which 14.3% ($6.2 million) is attributable to non-clinical activities, which according to internal costing methodology relates to administration.
