(2) Yes. (3) Since January 2000, the DEP has received 3 complaints that runoff from the EG Greens abattoir irrigation paddocks was entering roadside drainage lines. Specifically one on 11 January 2000, and two on 2 August 2001. On 16 and 17 July 2001, a person contacted the South West Regional Office of the DEP to advise that he had results of collected water samples in the drain adjacent to the EG Green irrigation area, which showed elevated levels of Bacteria, Nitrogen and Phosphorus, but did not formally complain about this issue. In response to these calls, an officer from the DEP visited the site on 19 July 2001 and collected water samples of the water in the drain and runoff from the EG Green irrigation site. He also organised the Shire to sample for Bacteria in the drain.
