I refer the minister to the list of sporting facility projects that were election commitments made by the Government and referred to on page 116 of Budget Paper No. 3, and ask - (1) In view of the community sporting and recreation facilities fund guidelines that require local communities to contribute two-thirds of the capital cost of funded projects, which of the projects listed will require two-thirds funding from local communities? (2) Were the affected communities advised prior to the election that the Government’s commitment to each project was to be restricted to one-third of the cost; and if not, why not? (3) Have any of the recipients of the funds for the projects listed on page 116 made an application under the CSRFF for funding? (4) Will recipients be required to make an application under the CSRFF guidelines to be eligible for the State Government’s contribution? (5) If recipients are not prepared to provide two-thirds of the cost of their project, will they be denied the Government’s election commitment contribution? Hon G.T. GIFFARD
