(1) The maps mentioned cannot be provided as they are 20 years old and the information is no longer current or available.
(2) The records of the Compilation Section of the then, Department of Land Administration, indicate that from September to November 1988, a series of digital plots were produced for Job 880589 - Greenhouse 88 Coastal Impact. This was achieved by using the existing 2 metre contour hand digitised from existing hardcopy 1:2000 or 1:5000 compilation maps, or extracted from the digital topographic data available at the time.
The 2 metre contour and some limited topography, such as coastline, roads and rivers were added and a series of about 60 hardcopy maps were then plotted for the required towns on the coastline.
The maps in question were produced over 20 years ago using the technology available at the time.
Hard copies of this series of maps were not retained by the Department as the maps were a derived product. Administrative retention is not required under the State Records Act beyond 7 years. However, the 2 m contour position is always available but inundation maps prepared in the 1980's do not warrant resurrection in their original form. Simple inundation models are redundant in the face of what is now known about local conditions and coastal change.
While the data exists to create a new set of maps this is not currently scheduled or budgeted to be produced in the foreseeable future.
