the minister representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to the government's development of a climate
change policy.
(1) Is the Public
Utilities Office or any of the energy portfolio government trading enterprises
undertaking any analysis or modelling as part of the development of the
government's climate change policy?
(2) If yes to (1), what work is the PUO or GTE undertaking?
(3) If no to
(1), is the PUO undertaking any modelling or analysis regarding emissions
reductions targets, renewable energy targets or other climate-related
modelling?
(4) If yes to (3), what modelling or analysis is being
undertaken?

following information has been provided by the Minister for Mines and
Petroleum.
(1) Yes.
(2) The Public
Utilities Office is undertaking analysis and developing advice regarding how
emissions can be reduced in the state's energy sector while maintaining
secure, reliable and affordable energy supply.
