GOODS AND SERVICES TAX DISTRIBUTION
505. Mr B.S. WYATT to the Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : That is enough!
Mr
B.S. WYATT : Treasurer, it would appear —
Mr
P.T. Miles interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Wanneroo, I call you to order for the second time.
Mr
B.S. WYATT : Can the Treasurer confirm that the statement by the Leader of
the National Party —
there will be no change to Western Australia's
GST share in the forward estimates,
— is indeed correct?

I have extreme faith that this state
will continue to grow rapidly relative to other states.
Mr
M. McGowan interjected.
Dr M.D. NAHAN : I do not care. Are you
involved in this? You are the failed leader! You sat there and resisted every
change we had! Fail!
Point of Order
Mr B.S. WYATT : I understand why
the Treasurer's erratic response does not want to deal with the actual
revenue that this apparent arrangement will deliver to Western Australia, but I
ask you to bring him back to answering the question, Mr Speaker.
The SPEAKER : Thank you. The
specific question, Treasurer.
Questions without Notice Resumed
Several
members interjected.
The SPEAKER : The Treasurer has the
floor.
Dr M.D. NAHAN : I think that this is one
of the most important reforms in fiscal federalism in 30 years and I am really
proud to be a member of the Liberal Party that has brought this reform into
place. I thank and support the Prime Minister and condemn the Labor Party.
The SPEAKER : That concludes question
time.
