DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
(1) 7 mobile phones were stolen, and one mobile phone was either lost or stolen.
(2) Combined total value of $2,046.
(3) Yes.
(4) Reports of one stolen mobile phone were made to the Police on each of the following dates: 6 July 2007, 9 July 2007, 16 August 2007, 26 September 2007, 2 October 2007, and 26 October 2007.
(5) None of the reported mobile phones have been recovered.
(6) One mobile phone, which was not reported to police, was returned shortly after.
The mobile phone that was either lost or stolen was not reported to police. This was a CDMA phone with only a small usable service life remaining.
(7) The Department of Health's Information Technology Policy No. P11/0804, titled Mobile Telephony Policy, instructs all Western Australian Government Health Sector entities regarding the allocation, control, use and security of mobile phones. Individual hospitals have their own procedures based upon this policy.
