(a) It is not intended to operate Prospector railcars in excess of 160 kilometres per hour. The standard to which the railway track has been designed and constructed permits the new Prospector railcars to operate at a maximum permissible speed of 160 kilometres per hour over portions of the Perth to Kalgoorlie railway.
If it is ever intended to operate Prospector railcars at speeds in excess of 160 kilometres per hour, it would be necessary to review the track standards.
