I refer to the Western Australian updated domestic gas reservation policy announced by the former Premier and Minister for State Development the Hon Mark McGowan on 17 August 2022, and I ask: (a) what applications did the Government receive to export onshore gas for the periods: (i) from March 2017 to 27 November 2018; (ii) from 27 November 2018 to 17 August 2020; and (iii) from 17 August 2020 to date; and (b) in each case in (a), will the Minister please provide the following: (i) the name of the project; (ii) date of application; (iii) outcome of application; and (iv) the position of the Premier of the day on each application?

No statement was made by the former Premier on 17 August 2022. It is assumed that the Member is referring to a statement made by the former Premier on 17 August 2020.
(a) (i) One request from the Waitsia Joint Venture was received on 19 October 2018, which resulted in a limited term export approval being granted.
(ii) Nil.
(iii) Four requests were received between 17 August 2020 and 13 November 2023. Strike Energy requested on three occasions between 2022 and 2023 to export gas from its Perth Basin assets. On each occasion Government responded consistent with the WA Domestic Gas Policy. Mineral Resources requested in 2023 to export gas from its Perth Basin assets. No decision has been made to Mineral Resources’ request.
