PERTH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL — DOORFRAMES
762. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the minister
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to question without notice
654 on the installation of noncompliant doors installed at the new Perth Children's
Hospital.
(1) Have all
doors now been remediated and reinstalled; and, if not, how many remain to be
remediated and reinstalled?
(2) Have all the
modified doorframes been inspected and certified as compliant in meeting
Australian fire safety standards; and, if so, by whom were they assessed and
when?
(3) If not all
doorframes have been inspected and certified, how many remain to be inspected
and certified?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question. The advice has actually been provided through the Minister for
Health, but as advised by the Department of Treasury, strategic projects and
asset sales.
(1) All but two
doors have been remediated and reinstalled, with the two remaining to be
installed later today, that being 23 August 2016.
(2) Over the last
two months, 1 005 doors and doorframes have been inspected and certified as
meeting Australian Standard AS 1905.1 by Arrow Fire Services, an independent
certifier.
(3) There are 60
fire and smoke doors and doorframes that are still to be certified. This work
is expected to be completed by 26 August 2016.
