YOUTH DETENTION — BANKSIA HILL DETENTION CENTRE
AND UNIT 18, CASUARINA PRISON
1454. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the minister representing the
Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to youth detention.
(1) How many
unit-wide confinement orders have been issued at Banksia Hill Detention Centre
and unit 18 respectively between 1 July and 11 November 2024?
(2) Has the
Department of Justice offered any additional support to those who were in
custody on Thursday, 29 August?
(3) Has the
Department of Justice done anything to counter suicide contagion, which may
lead to other deaths in custody?

(1) Unit-wide
confinement orders by month and youth detention facility are detailed below. This
information lists the facility, the dates and the numbers. There is a note that
says ''As at 11 November 2024''. I seek leave to have the table
