I refer to foster carers with the
Department for Child Protection and Family Support in each of the goldfields,
Murchison and Pilbara regions.
(1) What is the number of approved
foster carers?
(2) What is the number of approved
foster carers with children placed with them?
(3) How many children are placed
with these foster carers detailed in (2)?
(4) How many
foster carers have voluntarily relinquished children in the last six months and
how many children have been relinquished?

December 2015, the number of approved foster carers in the goldfields was 67;
Murchison, 99; and Pilbara, 100.
(2) On 31
December 2015, the number of approved foster carers with children placed in the
goldfields was 47; Murchison, 74; and Pilbara 62.
(3) The specific
information requested cannot be provided in the time available as this is a resource-intensive
task. However, I can provide information that covers all care types, including
those children placed with foster carers.
