In regard to unused Government lands in the Shire of Westonia, I ask:
(a) can the Minister list what unused government lands are available in the Shire of Westonia;
(b) can the Minister state the time period over which those lands have not been used;
(c) are there any plans to develop those lands; and
(i) if so, what are the details of those plans;
(d) has the Shire of Westonia approached the Minister or his Department to buy and develop those lands; and
(i) if yes, what lands, and what price was offered to them for the sale of those lands;
(e) of the lands offered to the Shire of Westonia, were the lands offered to them below market price, and if so:
(i) what was the price; and
(ii) for each piece of land, how far below market price was each offered price;
(f) if the land was offered to the Shire at market price or above, did the Minister or his Department consider offering the lands at a lower price; and
(i) if not, why not; and
(g) would the Minister be willing to sell some unused State Government land to the Shire of Westonia at a low price to facilitate development of the town?

(a) A list of "unused" land is not available. The status of Crown land is shown on electronic map databases maintained by the Western Australian Land Authority (Landgate) but not recorded in a tabulated format. I am not prepared to dedicate crucial resources and departmental time in answering these broad questions. If the Member wants to ask a question about a particular Crown land parcel or land issue I would request that he identify this matter to enable proper research to be conducted.
(b) - (f) Answered by (a).
(g) The Department of Regional Development and Lands works closely with all Local Government Authorities in relation to Crown land issues. Each request is considered on a case by case basis.
