I refer to the Victoria Highway, Kununurra Heavy Haulage Route, and I ask: (a) when does the Government expect construction of this project will commence; (b) when do the environmental approvals for this project expire; (c) what is the current weight limit on the bridge over the Ord River at the diversion dam; (d) when was an assessment of the weight limit for this bridge last undertaken; (e) does Main Roads Western Australia expect that without any remedial works further weight limits will be imposed on this bridge at some point in the future; and (f) if yes to (e), when do they expect this to occur?

(a) Construction timing will be determined when funding for Stage One of the Route is identified by the Commonwealth Government.
(b) Main Roads is currently seeking an extension to clearing permit. The remaining environmental approvals do not have an expiry date specified.
(c) An overall weight limit depends on the vehicle configuration.
(d) September 2009.
(e) Yes.
(f) The next detailed inspection is scheduled for 2015-16.
