PEEL HEALTH CAMPUS — HEALTH SOLUTIONS (WA)
652. Mr R.H. COOK to the Minister for Health:
I ask a supplementary question. Does the minister believe
that a person employing someone to run as a candidate for the Liberal Party in
Mandurah is someone of a fit and proper character?

AnswerView source ↗

I would have been more concerned if
they had tried to get someone to run for the Labor Party. The reality is that they showed good judgement in doing that, but there
is nothing to stop anyone within this state running for any party in this
state. It is a complete furphy for this member to say what he has said. We know
what this is about. The opposition is seriously concerned about the vote in
Mandurah. It is quite clearly concerned. I do not know why it is concerned,
member for Mandurah. I have always thought that the member for Mandurah was
pretty popular over there. It is my impression that the member for Mandurah is
a pretty popular fellow. Why else is the opposition mounting this continuous
campaign solely for the purpose of denigrating the candidate for the Liberal
Party for the election? The more the opposition talks about him, the more
publicity he gets and the more people will realise what a quality candidate he
is.
