Health—Bed availability
329. Ms Libby Mettam to
the Minister for Health:
I have a
supplementary question. Do the figures supplied by the Department of Health
expose that since Labor took government, only an additional 118 metro hospital
beds have been added to the health system?
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Members! You have just asked the
question. Give the minister the opportunity to respond.

The opposition
spokesperson for health was caught out being unable to explain figures
yesterday, figures that she used yesterday and that she has refused to retract,
even though those figures are wrong. I have explained to the member the
difference between the numbers that she used and why they change over time.
