STATE BUDGET - GOVERNMENT FEES AND CHARGES
I refer the Treasurer to question without notice 358 and tabled paper 2758. Sometimes the numbers of the questions that we get back are different from those that appear in Hansard , so sometimes there is confusion. (1) Will the Treasurer table the full document from which the tabled paper was sourced? (2) Will the Treasurer table a copy of the policy guidelines dealing with commercial sector agencies as opposed to non-commercial agencies? (3) Will the Treasurer table advice issued to non-commercial agencies by the Treasury Agency Resource Division concerning the CPI figure to be used for increasing fees and charges for 2007-08? (4) Will the Treasurer table advice given to commercial agencies concerning the CPI figure to be used for adjusting fees and charges for the 2007-08 year? (5) If the Treasurer will not table any of the requested documents, will the Treasurer explain why not? Hon KATE DOUST

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. I seek leave to table the report. It is understood that the question should refer to question without notice 346. The answers are prepared on that basis. (1) The Department of Treasury and Finance has been unable to retrieve the full document from the record archives in the time available. (2) The setting of fees and charges for commercial agencies is generally covered by the legislation of the relevant agencies. (3) Attachments from the budget circular to agencies, with information on tariffs, fees and charges, are attached. (4) The same general advice is given to all commercial and non-commercial agencies. See answer to (3). (5) Not applicable. [See paper 2790.]
