Hon Peter Collier, on behalf of Hon Tjorn Sibma, asks the Minister for Environment about the establishment of new marine parks and reserves, including their location, consultation process, gazettal timeline, and contribution to the 'Plan for Our Parks' policy. The Minister states they don't have the question and will need to check what happened to a similar question asked previously.

MARINE PARKS AND RESERVES — ESTABLISHMENT
908. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the Minister for Environment:
This question is asked on behalf of
Hon Tjorn Sibma, who is on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to the Conservation and
Land Management Amendment Bill 2020.
(1) How many new
marine reserves or parks are being contemplated by the state government and
where are they located?
(2) What
consultation has occurred on the establishment of those new marine reserves or
parks, and with which groups and on which occasions?
(3) When is it
anticipated these new marine reserves or parks will be gazetted?
(4) Are these new
marine reserves or parks to be incorporated into the state government's
Plan for Our Parks policy and therefore contribute to the expansion of the
conservation estate by some five million hectares?
(5) If yes to
(4), what proportion or contribution would be made by these new marine reserves
or parks towards the above objective?

Honourable
member, I do not have that question and I do not recall seeing it. A question
asked last week by Hon Tjorn
Sibma was similar, which I advised I would provide an answer to at the end of
question time today. I do not think it is exactly the same, so I will have to
check what happened to that one.
