PROCUREMENT
747. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I
refer to the finance leases on the Hawker 850XP and the King Air B200 prior to
the government purchasing the aircraft.
(1) Were there
monthly limits on the amount of hours for use for each aircraft; and, if so,
what was the monthly limit?
(2) If yes to
(1), since March 2017, did any of these aircraft exceed the monthly limit under
the finance lease?
(3) If yes to
(2), will the government please provide the details of each month the limit was
exceeded for each aircraft and the number of hours the limit was exceeded?
(4) What was the
additional cost, on a monthly basis, where the number of hours exceeded the
number allowed for under the finance lease?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Prior to the
purchase of both aircraft, the total number of usage hours under the finance
lease was 6 000 hours per aircraft for the period of the lease. Monthly limits
were set by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet at the commencement of
the leases in 2007 as an internal allocation to control costs and usage. The
department allocated 41 hours for the Hawker jet and 30 hours for the King Air
a month.
(2) No.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) There was no
additional cost for excess hours, as both aircraft did not exceed the overall
usage limit as per the lease agreement.
