The number of Western Australians who were registered in the mental health system and who died of any cause in that reporting year was 660, including people whose registration with the mental health system had ceased before the date of their death. Of these, 206 patients who died of any cause were not active clients of the mental health service at the time of their death, and 390 of the 660 people were aged 70-plus years.
