Can the minister explain the reasons for the absence of the two ministers who normally reside in this Chamber and are not here for question time? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS

In respect of the Minister for Housing and Works; Local Government and Regional Development; the Kimberley, Pilbara and Gascoyne, I am advised that he and Hon Derrick Tomlinson are in the north west today at the Kimberley law and cultural festival in Fitzroy Crossing.  It is an important festival, and it is considered appropriate that the Government and the Opposition both be represented there.  In respect of the Leader of the House, who is a very conscientious minister and member, I do not have specific details of his itinerary for today but I am conscious that his weighty responsibilities unfortunately require him to be absent today.  I know he regrets that very much.
