SOUTHERN FORESTS IRRIGATION
SCHEME
1106. Hon COLIN TINCKNELL to the minister representing the
Minister for Water:
My question is about the Donnelly
River meeting for the southern forests irrigation scheme. I refer to question
without notice 1087, asked yesterday.
(1) Does the minister
expect that she will be able to provide answers to the questions asked on 28
July?
(2) Can the
minister confirm that the answers to those questions were provided by the
Department of Water and Environmental Regulation but were withheld by
ministerial instruction?
(3) Why has it
taken the minister's office almost three months to provide answers to
these questions?

I
thank the member for the question. I just need to explain to the member that he
is asking this of me in a representative capacity, so the answers that
were given before were effectively answers from the Minister for Water's
office, not from my office. My office is not preparing any answers from DWER.
That is just to put that beyond doubt for the member, because I note that he
said ''she'', and the Minister for Water is actually a male
person.
The following information has been
provided by the Minister for Water.
(1)–(3) A
response to questions asked on 28 July will be provided in the coming weeks.
