Aged care—Home care packages743.Hon Julie Freemanto
theminister representing the Minister for Aged
Care and Seniors:I refer to the
minister's public claim that she would be seeking nearly half of the 20,000
home care packages announced by the federal government on 3 September 2025.(1) Will the minister table all correspondence between
her, her office and the department and the federal Minister for Aged Care and
Seniors on this matter since the announcement?(2) Has the minister or any state government
agency lodged a submission to the Senate Standing Committees on Community
Affairs inquiry into aged-care service delivery and, if so, will the minister
table that submission?(3) Given the detailed submissions made by small
regional communities, such as Walpole and Pingelly, why has the government not
demonstrated the same level of advocacy for fair aged-care funding?

honourable member for some notice of the question. The following response has
been provided by the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors.(1) The minister has written to the Hon Sam Rae
MP, Commonwealth Minister for Aged Care and Seniors advocating to the
Commonwealth for a fair share of aged-care funding and to clear the home care
package waitlist immediately.(2) The minister lodged a submission to this
inquiry, which has been published by the committee.(3) The WA government has consistently and
repeatedly advocated to the Commonwealth for a fair share of aged-care funding
for Western Australia, including through the Premier's delegation to Canberra
in late August 2025.
