(1) Yes. (2) Policy Statement. The payment of membership fees and subscriptions fees for associations and/or organisations to which staff members belong will be the responsibility of the individual staff member, except in cases where the Director General approves a contribution from the Department toward these costs. For Departmental staff who undertake air travel on behalf of the Department on a frequent basis, and where it can be shown that the potential accumulation of points will save on air expenses the Department may contribute to fees for frequent flyer membership and airline lounge memberships. The use of frequent flyer points by staff will comply with State Government guidelines (Premier's Circulars 14/01 and 09/02), Disability Services (1) A recent review of membership expenditure highlighted the need for a formal policy. I have been advised that the Disability Services Commission now has a formal policy in place. Prior to the development of this policy, the Commission has paid membership fees in order to subscribe to journals and newsletters useful for information and professional development purposes, and also to allow for distribution of information to families as appropriate. The new policy clearly establishes the criteria for expenditure of this kind. (2) Yes. The policy is attached. Culture and the Arts Department of Culture and the Arts (1) A draft Departmental policy exists in respect of payments of memberships, which has yet to be endorsed by the Portfolio agencies. (2) Not applicable. Art Gallery of Western Australia (1) A draft policy has been developed and is awaiting endorsement. (2) Not applicable. ScreenWest (1) A draft policy has been developed and is awaiting endorsement. (2) Not applicable. WA Museum (1) Yes. (2) Attached. Perth Theatre Trust (1) A draft policy has been developed and is awaiting endorsement. (2) Not applicable. State Library of Western Australia (1) A draft policy has been developed and is awaiting endorsement. (2) Not applicable.
