I refer to the recent tender calling for applications for funding under the Productivity Placement Program, and I ask -
(1) Was the delay in the call for applications a result of the delay in forming the State Priority Occupations List?
(2) If no to (1), why was there such a delay, and why were Registered Training Organisations informed of a number of different dates, by which applications would be called?

(1) No. There was no delay in forming the State Priority Occupations List.
(2) The decision to incorporate qualifications aligned to the State Priority Occupations List into the Productivity Places Program in 2010 required additional work to establish the list of qualifications that would be available for funding. The incorporation of qualifications aligned to the State Priority Occupations List means that the courses offered in the Productivity Places Program are more focused on Western Australia's occupations in demand rather than previously defined national list of occupations.
An initial date for the call for applications was made prior to the decision to align the State Priority Occupations List with the 2010 Productivity Places Program. This decision, and the additional work required to establish the list of qualifications, caused the date for the call for applications to change. Further dates for the call for applications were based on the anticipated completion of the list of qualifications.
