Hon Sue Ellery questions the Minister for Education regarding the provision of school psychology services to private schools, specifically in the Kimberley and South West regions. The Minister confirms the Kimberley service continues but no such service exists in the South West, citing a request from the Catholic Education Office as the reason for the Kimberley arrangement.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION — SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY
SERVICES
212. Hon SUE ELLERY to the

The Department of Education's annual report refers to
a formal agreement to provide school psychology services to all private schools
in the Kimberley, which started in 2012 and continued in 2013.
(1) Is that
service still offered this year?
(2) Are any psychology services provided for private schools
in the south west?
(3) If no to (2), are there any plans to offer this service

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) Yes.
(2) No.
(3) The
arrangement in the Kimberley region arose as a result of a request from the
Catholic Education Office.
I ask that the business of the house be resumed.
Hon Sue Ellery : That is really outrageous!
Several members interjected.
The
PRESIDENT : Order! A question was asked earlier in the
proceedings, and the Leader of the House said he was going to follow it up.
Hon PETER COLLIER : By way of explanation, can I say
that the honourable member put in four or five questions today, and I signed
off, just before question time, on about four of them. I may not have signed
off on that one, so that is my point. I said at the time that I thought I had
signed it. There was a very similar question —
Hon Sue Ellery : That is very convenient!
Hon PETER COLLIER : I am sorry that the Leader of the
Opposition does not believe me, but that is the fact of the matter. I am not
sure that I signed off on that question, because there were four or five very
similar questions.
