I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Yes. Access to Durlacher Street will be maintained throughout construction. Traffic that currently uses Durlacher Street will still be able to do so, albeit on a new alignment that will be constructed along Eliot Street and Waverley Street. The new route will continue to provide access from the central business district at the northern end of Durlacher Street across the transport corridor to the southern end and the residential areas of Mt Tarcoola. (2) No. (3) Yes. Public consultation has been extensive during the development of the project, and the design, including modification to Durlacher Street, has been publicly displayed and approved by the City of Geraldton. More recently, discussions have been held with affected proprietors about the upcoming roadworks. (4) It is not anticipated that there will be any significant impact on Durlacher Street businesses.
