Energy Policy WA
535. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation:
Happy Thursday. I
refer to Energy Policy WA (EPWA) modelling that the government appears to use
to underpin its unbelievable claim that its current energy transition plan will
work over the next five years.
(1) Is the EPWA modelling focused only on grid
stability?
(2) Has EPWA modelled other factors beyond grid
stability in order to provide its advice, including modelling on:
(a) the price of electricity for business;
(b) the availability of electricity for business
and residential consumers; and
(c) the cost of construction for additional
transmission and distribution lines?
(3) Is the EPWA modelling publicly available and,
if so, can the minister please table it?
(4) If no to (3), how can anybody believe the
opinion of the government that the transition will work if the modelling that
underpins it is kept secret?
